Eric M. Mika, CELA

Mr. Mika is board certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, and the only board certified elder law attorney in Schuylkill County. An advocate for older adults, he concentrates on assessing their long-term care needs, both medical and financial, as well as estate planning through wills, trusts, special needs planning for disabled children, guardianships, financial and healthcare powers of attorney and living wills, retirement planning, maximizing inheritances by protecting assets from nursing home and employing death-tax reduction strategies (both PA inheritance and federal estate taxes).
Whether a client desires care at home or requires placement in an assisted living facility or nursing home, Mr. Mika assesses a client’s desires, needs and eligibility for public programs and benefits available through Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income and Veterans’ Aid and Attendance benefits.
Mr. Mika also maintains an extensive practice in representing executors and personal representatives in post-death estate administration and probate of wills. He is a frequent lecturer on long-term care and estate planning matters for individuals of all ages.
