Are You a Grandparent Raising a Grandchild?

Williamson, Friedberg and Jones, Family Law Attorney, Angelique Bailey will be presenting a FREE program called, “Establishing Custody as a Grandparent.” on Wednesday, March 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit #29, 17 Maple Avenue, Marlin.

Are you a grandparent raising your grandchild? You are not alone. When parents are unable to raise their children, grandparents often step in. Raising grandchildren can be an overwhelming challenge. To meet this challenge, grandparent caregivers need to build a support system to assist them in carrying out the many activities involved. Grandparents also need to take good care of themselves, so that they can remain mentally and physically safe enough to do the job.  One way to make the job easier is to communicate with other grandparents.

The Schuylkill County Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group, was formed to provide resources and support for grandparents.  It is organized by the Schuylkill Office of Senior Services, RSVP of Schuylkill County and the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit #29.

At the next meeting of The Schuylkill County Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group, join Family Law Attorney, Angelique Bailey, from Williamson, Friedberg, & Jones, LLC, to learn more about your custody rights as a grandparent and the answers to your legal questions.
