I was injured at work. When should I tell my boss?

Attorney Ashley Securda

If you were injured at work. You should tell your boss right away. In Pennsylvania, an injured worker must notify their employer within 120 days of being injured or else the injured employee is not entitled to worker’s compensation benefits.

However, if the employee reports the injury within 21 days of the injury, the injured employee can potentially get benefits back to the first day of the injury. Therefore, it is important to inform your boss or supervisor of your injury right away so that your claim is protected and to maximize the amount of benefits you may be entitled to.
